Shemar Moore grew up outside America, first in Denmark, then Bahrain, before heading to Ghana; finally, his mother moved to America where he grew up and found fame.

Growing up was tough due to the transitions but also because Moore experienced racism after moving back to America with his family.

He was six years old at the time, and people made him feel different in school. They were always asking why his hair looked the way it did, why his skin was black, and also how come he had a white mother.

Kids would chase him after school which resulted in him picking up rocks and throwing them to fight back. This was how he star discovered he could make it as a baseball player.

Moore started out as a professional baseball player in college before he suffered an injury. It was after this he moved to Los Angeles with hopes of becoming an actor.

According to him, no one was betting on him to succeed, not even his family, but fortunately, he was able to defy the odds. The actor has starred in multiple shows like “Criminal Minds” and “S.W.A.T” while he also produced his own movie titled “The Bounce Back.”

Shemar Moore starred in the CBS crime series “Criminal Minds” alongside actors like Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna, and Gray Gubler for 11 years.

Speaking to reporters after the last episode in which he appeared aired, the actor explained the reason for leaving was because he wanted to continue to grow as an actor.

He did not write or direct any episode on the series like some of his co-stars did, and the actor shared he also wanted to see what else he was capable of doing.

Apart from professional growth, Moore once claimed he needed balance in his life. The actor declared he enjoyed filming and everything that had to do with acting, but he would love to walk his dogs, travel, get married, and have kids.

All these are hard to do considering the tight schedule that actors have to keep for their careers to run smoothly. Just after leaving “Criminal Minds” Moore landed the role of Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson on another CBS action drama, “S.W.A.T.”

After years of being one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, Moore told Watch! Magazine he was eager to embrace his paternal side, and he also reiterated his desire about wanting to settle down.

He would love to have a partner in crime, a woman to share his life with but not at the expense of his career. The actor also expressed gratitude for every role he has played and movies he has appeared in.

Moore explained he thinks the gay rumors flying around about him are silly, and that is why he had to address it. He is very comfortable with who he is, and he has dated multiple times because he loves women.

The actor also declared that if anyone thinks he is gay, they should send their girlfriends over to his house for the weekend and see what happens.

Moore, who also once responded to these rumors by posting on his Instagram, revealed this does not mean he is arrogant, but it shows his confidence in himself. People might call him whatever they want, but no one knows him like he knows himself.

There are plenty of his fans that are gay, people who he has inspired and would come up to him for hugs or pictures. He declared putting his arms around such fans does not mean he himself is gay, and people who believe that are just Ignorant and simple-minded.

Moore revealed singer Toni Braxton was his first Hollywood relationship. At the time, he was still very young and had just graduated from college.

He had no money and was on the soap opera “Young and the Restless” when Braxton called his agent and invited him to appear on the music video which she was shooting in Miami.

Their relationship started from that point, and Moore described he was like a little kid who found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The actor explained being Braxton was a wild ride but what bothered him was that she would not sing for him.

The “S.W.A.T” star shared that a lot of people knew he and actress Halle Berry dated. She was the first lady to knock his socks, and the actor fell really in love with her. He explained they had to keep their relationship secret at the time because Berry had just broken off her marriage to David Justice.

The actor revealed he was so smitten with her because they shared a lot of things in common, like being biracial, and also Berry was going through a lot of things in Hollywood that Moore himself was also dealing with.

Moore declared dating Berry was a necessary experience because it made him a much stronger man, and it also informed him about the Calibre of woman he would want to date in the future.

According to the actor, they only got together for coffee after they had met before heading to the Grammys.’ They were still taking baby steps and getting to know each other, so there have been no plans or talks of marriage.

The actor explained how being in a relationship affects his on-screen kissing scenes and that dating a fellow actor takes a lot of trusts. Moore revealed he keeps the real emotional stuff for his partner Acosta off-screen.

Personally, there has to be a lot of trust between him and his partner because one of the perks of being an actor is kissing on-screen, and this can feel weird when you’re in a relationship.
