Quntashea Lewis named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Virginia Wesleyan


VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Quntashea Lewis, head basketball coach at Salem Faculty (NC), has been named as the brand new head girls’s basketball coach at Virginia Wesleyan College,  in line with Andrea Hoover-Erbig, Government Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.  She replaces Liz Hudy, who stepped down after three seasons to work in personal Business

Lewis and Desiree Driver of Averett College be a part of the league this season as the primary African American girls’s basketball head coaches in ODAC historical past. 

“Quntashea is a bright, young and upcoming star in the coaching profession,” stated Hoover-Erbig. “She has an established reputation as a player and coach and comes highly recommended by some of the most respected leaders in the women’s basketball coaching profession. We are excited for her to join our Virginia Wesleyan family.”

Lewis joins Virginia Wesleyan College after spending the final three seasons as the top coach of the Salem Faculty Spirit in Winston-Salem, N.C. 

Previous to taking on the top teaching function at Salem, Lewis spent the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach at Mount Saint Mary Faculty.

Lewis holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Train Science with a minor in teaching from Salem Faculty. She was a four-year student-athlete for the Spirit garnering quite a few awards and accolades. She ranked first in Salem’s profession historical past in offensive rebounds (335), defensive rebounds (472) and complete rebounds (872).
