Marie Osmond Remarried Her 1st Husband after 20 Years of “Pain” and “Sorrow” in 2nd Marriage

After her first divorce, the singer and actress Marie Osmond revealed that she stayed in her second “unhappy” marriage because of her children. But after 20 years of pain, she found love again with her first husband, Stephen Craig.

Marie Osmond remarried her first husband Stephen Craig after 26 years of their divorce and said that “nothing is an accident.”

“The Talk” co-host said that when she divorced the first time, she promised herself she’d never get married again. She was never afraid to share her pain with others, as she thinks that “women need to share and feel the camaraderie.”

The country singer married her second husband, Brian Blosill, shortly after she divorced Craig. The couple welcomed seven kids over 20 years of marriage. According to Closer Weekly, Marie and Brian weren’t happy despite their kids.

She once revealed that “you hang in there because of the kids,” but one day, she thought, “I can’t do this anymore.” Her children, most of them already full grown-ups, gave her support and told her to leave.

The realization came after she lost her home in a fire in August 2005 and her union with her second husband started to crumble after that. She opened up about the fire and believed it was God using it as a way to wake her up:

“It was probably one of the most freeing things that ever happened to me. Because I realized this home I had created was a facade to a marriage that wasn’t happy for 20 years. I really believe it was God.”

In May 2007, the actress and singer called its quits and filed for divorce. But it wasn’t a spontaneous decision. The fire became a metaphor for her failing marriage for a home that was a facade to her. She admitted it was hard for her to start life over again at 47.

After her divorce, her personal life became a turmoil. But the love of her brothers helped her healing process. She believed that growing up with men, she said she understood men, but her problem was assuming that everybody was like her brothers.

Her divorce with Brain left marks on her, and she was afraid to start dating again. Until she crossed ways with her first husband, Stephen, whom she hasn’t seen for 25 years; Marie and Stephen remarried in 2011.

The first time they got married, Marie was just 22. She and Stephen met when she was a teen, and less than a year after they wed, they welcomed their son Stephen Jr, who is now 38. They were together from 1982 until 1987.

They tied the knot once again on July 4th because it was her son’s birthday, and she wanted him to be there in spirit. Marie lost her son Michael to a tragic suicide at the young age of 18 in 2010.

Apart from the love of her life, which Marie couldn’t imagine her life without Steve in it, her greatest gifts from God are her children. The actress and singer is a mom of Stephen, 38, Jessica, 33, Rachael, 31, Brandon, 24, Brianna, 23, Matthew, 21, Abigail, 18.

Marie Osmond, Donny Osmond’s sister, came from a big family of her own —  she has eight brothers!  — so it’s no surprise Marie had a lot of kids herself. Despite the pre-disposition, Marie revealed she didn’t plan to have a big family, it just happened to her, but her mother told her:

“‘Don’t let fear ever enter into your maternal knowledge about how many children are yours. When I had number eight, it was like a symphony and angels singing. I was like, ‘I’m done.’”

The show business legend went through a lot of hardship in her life. Besides her painful divorces and a rape that she doesn’t talk about, Marie also struggles with depression.

Michael first started to use drugs at 12 years old. He was in and out of rehab before he got clean. The country singer revealed she also benefited from his treatment, as she learned how to mother a son with addictions.

After getting clean, Michael revealed to his mother he had never been happier in his life. But a month later, he jumped from his eight-floor apartment. Toxicologists said that he wasn’t under the influence when he took his own life.

Her son was depressed, and before taking his own life, he left his mother a note. She revealed her son had attempted suicide before when she was a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Two weeks after Michael died, Marie went back to work—something she calls “a calculated decision.” She was deeply criticized for her decisions, but she believes that she didn’t get back on stage at that time; she would never get back.

Marie revealed in a candid interview with Oprah that her faith helps her to know that she’ll see her son again someday. She also believes that Michael would want her to be happy.

In September 2020, Marie announced she was leaving “The Talk” after being a host for one year. The star revealed she wanted to dedicate more time to her husband Stephen and her grandchildren in a statement.

And in August 2021, the musician announced her latest released opera-meets-American standard album called “Unexpected.” Many people don’t know Marie’s opera side, so it comes, indeed, unexpected. She revealed to People:

“I’ve sung some of these songs over the years, but to collect them all in one place? It is unexpected. But it is also my heart, so from my heart to the fans, this is for them.”

Marie Osmond explained that her latest album is dedicated to her fans and she hopes they can feel how much the music is capable of moving her — so it might move them too!
