Stamos has been married twice in his lifetime. In 1994, he started dating Rebecca Romijn after meeting her at a Victoria’s Secret fashion show wherein she modeled.

Three years after their first meeting, Stamos and Romijn got engaged on Christmas Eve 1997. On September 19, 1998, they tied the knot at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

However, their union lasted only about six years as they announced their separation in April 2004. In August 2004, Stamos filed for divorce from Romijn. It was finalized on March 1, 2005.

It took many years before Stamos would get married again. On October 23, 2017, he announced his engagement to model and actress Caitlin McHugh, who he started dating in 2016.

The couple tied the knot in February 2018, with their magical wedding reception held at Stamos’s longtime home in the Beverly Hills Post Office area.

INSIDE STAMOS’S BEVERLY HILLS HOME

Stamos bought his Beverly Hills property, a two-bedroom pad, in 2005. The property had style and soul and transformed with the “Full House” star for over a decade.

The father of one once said the house was more himself than any other place he had lived. He also described the house’s bones as being grounded and old-school.

Stamos explained that he began his life as a bachelor, married, and had a child on the property. Hence, it represented many changes throughout his life.

He said it started as a party house. However, he straightened out his act, and the property became a healing house. Suddenly, his wife came into his life and the house transformed once more.

Stamos took Architectural Digest on tour around his beautiful Beverly Hills house in 2019,  showing the estate’s attractive features.

The house had a classic but rustic feel inside, decorated with earth stones and reclaimed materials. Since Stamos has a romantic nature, it is unsurprising that his Beverly home also had an intimate feel with pictures and other personal items scattered all over.

Stamos collaborated with Chris Barret, a designer he met on the “Full House” set to create interiors distinctive to his interests, including playing music.

Barret revealed that Stamos added the stone to the fireplace wall, and the designers continued from there. With the knowledge that Stamos loves Old Hollywood and Disneyland, Barret knew they had to add humor whenever she could.

Stamos also credited his sobriety for making him the kind of dad he is today.

She also revealed that they added small moments and had a mission to create a feeling of comfort and approachability. The master bedroom in Stamos’s Beverly Hills home was exotic and masculine and featured blue fabrics and a custom Portuguese-influenced bed.

Stamos revealed the room once had a shag-style rug, but his wife smartened the room later. He said she contributed decorative slats and a velvet-covered settee.

The bones of the house’s main room had charm because of the grand windows, stone hearth, and slanted and timbered ceilings. It also featured custom and differently textured furniture.

The other side of the room featured a Steinway & Sons piano from the 1940s, which Stamos bought in the 1980s when he bought his first house in Topanga Canyon. There was also a side table ornamented with an old typewriter he received from Tom Hanks.

The back of the house featured a pool with panoramic views of Los Angeles. The property also had a music room situated in its structure and trimmed with Disney memorabilia and instruments.

STAMOS SELLS HIS BEVERLY HILLS HOME

In 2020, Stamos eventually sold his Beverly Hills home for $4.24 million. He sold the property a year after putting it up for sale and slashing the price thrice.

Although Stamos did not sell the house for his initial asking price of $6.75 million, he still profited from its sale as he bought it for $3.57 million in 2005.

Stamos sold the property a year after purchasing a Cape Cod-style spot in Hidden Hills for $5.75 million. His new property provides him and his family with much privacy as it is situated on a knoll behind a private gated street and driveway.

Stamos’s new property is nearly 1.5 acres and has six bedrooms and a recording studio. He bought the home from Swedish music producer Adam Anders and his wife and singer Nikki Anders.

“I tell you, I’m just so grateful that I’m married at this age and that I have a kid and a family.”

In April 2021, Stamos also opened up to People about life with his son, Billy. He described Billy as the most charming kid. He revealed his son joined him on set while filming “Big Shot” and loved the girls. The actor joked:

“Billy came to the show a couple of times and he loved the girls, believe it or not. He’s a flirt, I don’t know where he got it!”

Stamos further said that the COVID-19 pandemic taught him to embrace every moment with his family. He said fatherhood is better than he ever imagined and added that he is grateful for the experience.

Stamos said being a father is his favorite role. He explained that being a parent is about sacrifice and has no reward. Instead, what one gets is a child who is a more loving, kinder, and wiser version of oneself, which he thought is special.

During his interview, Stamos also credited his sobriety for making him the kind of dad he is today. He admitted that he would never have been a father when he was not sober.
