Australian Special Forces Veteran Turned OnlyFans Model Heston Russell Sues ABC For Defamation

Australian Special Forces veteran, founding father of the Australian Values Celebration, and OnlyFans mannequin Heston Russell is suing the ABC for defamation.

Russell, 36, claims that in November 2021, the ABC falsely printed that he was being criminally investigated for his wartime conduct in Afghanistan.

Lawsuit: Russell’s Character, Private and Skilled Popularity Have Been Broken

In keeping with Russell’s lawsuit, the November article made defamatory claims together with that Russell “was reasonably suspected by the Department of Defence of committing a crime or crimes when he was a commando in Afghanistan,” and that Russell “was involved in callously killing an Afghan prisoner in Helmand province in mid-2012 because the prisoner would not fit on a US aircraft.”

The lawsuit goes on to state that “Russell has been gravely injured in his character, his personal reputation, and his professional reputation as a former member of the armed forces, and has suffered and will continue to suffer substantial hurt, distress and embarrassment.”

In an announcement, Russell mentioned, “The ABC, despite accepting that the article contravened its own editorial standard of accuracy, has refused to take the story down and withdraw the serious allegations that it made.”

He continued, “I will not be making any further comment now that the matter is before the Court.”

Suing For Damages, Aggravated Damages and Authorized Prices

In keeping with the Each day Telegraph, Russell is being represented by defamation attorneys Sue Chrysanthou SC and Rebekah Giles.  Previously, the pair have represented Christian Porter, Geoffrey Rush, John Barilaro and Andrew Laming.

He’s suing for damages, aggravated damages, authorized prices, and for the ABC articles to be eliminated.

The ABC, in an announcement, mentioned it “will defend its journalism on this important issue of public interest.”

On August 12, Russell pleaded not responsible to assaulting a person at a personal social gathering in Sydney on January 2022.

In December 2021, Russell made headlines when it was revealed that he raised roughly $15,000 within the identify of a veterans’ psychological well being charity by promoting nudes of himself by way of OnlyFans.
